Refund Schedule

Students may withdraw from a course at any time but are entitled to a refund only if they withdraw before the end of the second week of classes and notify the Department of Languages and Regional Studies either in writing (an Email message is acceptable), or in person. Notifying an instructor is insufficient.

In the event a student withdraws from a course, refunds will be made as follows:

  • 100 percent prior to start of the term;
  • 80 percent if a request to withdraw is submitted in writing during the first week of class;
  • 60 percent if a request to withdraw is submitted in writing during the second week of class;
  • No refund will be made if a student withdraws after the second week

N.B.: The $35 registration fee and the costs of books, audio tapes, CDs, DVDs and other supplementary instructional materials are not refundable.

Please note that the policies also apply to Weekend Intensive Courses

A confirmation Email will be sent upon receipt of a request to withdraw. A student who does not receive such confirmation should contact the Department of Languages and Regional Studies. Refunds will be made by check if payment was made either with a check or in cash.

Refunds will be made by credit card if payment was made by credit card and only to the card that was used to make the payment. For refunds to be made to another credit card, a signed authorization from the cardholder is required. Please allow 45 days for refunds to be processed.
