Brad Bourland has been the chief economist and managing director of proprietary investments at Jadwa Investment Company in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia since June 2007. He is also vice chairman of its management committee. 

For nine years previously, Mr. Bourland was the chief economist at Samba Financial Group, formerly the Citigroup affiliate Saudi American Bank in Riyadh. There he was responsible for cross-border risk management. For 18 years earlier in his career, he was a diplomat and economist with the U.S. Department of State. In his last diplomatic post, as first secretary at the embassy in Riyadh, he was a member of the negotiating team in connection with Saudi Arabia’s accession to the World Trade Organization. Mr. Bourland publishes regularly on issues related to the Saudi Arab and global economies and the world oil market. He earned a B.A. and M.A. from the University of Utah. He is a chartered financial analyst.
