Paul Scham is a visiting professor of Israel Studies at the University of Maryland - College Park, and has also taught at the George Washington University. He is the Executive Director of the UMD Gildenhorn Institute for Israel Studies, and has previously served as the coordinator of joint research projects with Palestinians and Jordanians at the Truman Institute of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. He has authored and co-authored several books and articles, including Shared Histories: A Palestinian-Israeli Dialogue (2005).
