• Specializes in development law; headed development appraisal missions to over thirty developing countries
• Formerly Dean of Law at Khartoum University (Sudan) and Director of The Center for Islamic Legal Studies at Ahmadu Bello University (Nigeria)
• Author of numerous publications, including The Legal System of the Sudan (1971)
